![]() TLDR: You are going to win the long game against the computer. It may get pinged off by a 1 damage effect so it's not like you can rely on it in every game and every situation but there are certainly games where you get screwed or flooded and the only reason you won is because the computer didn't attack into that spider for like 3-4 turns. They can have like 3 4/4s or something and they will never attack as long as that spider is sitting there. The computer hates attacking into Deadly units. Not saying Teleport is a card I'd draft highly in Forge but it's an example of a card I would value much higher in Forge than in Draft.įinally, the last type of card that I've found is very effective in Forge is cheap creatures with Deadly, especially Direfang Spider. You can even get them with stuff like Teleport a lot of the time when they double block. But in Forge, cards like Finest Hour and Rapid Shot end up being very similar to Torch and Annihilate because they can essentially kill something on demand. Most humans would not make that block so in Draft, combat tricks rarely remove high value threats. The computer never plays around combat tricks so if they have something like a Siraf and you attack into it with a 1/1, they will block 100% of the time. You probably won't need the Chieftain to win but you may very well need the Temper to not lose. You are going to win the long game against the computer anyways so if you already have a few win conditions, it might be better to take a Temper or Vara's Favor (which are considered average/low rated in Draft) over something like a Warband Chieftain (a highly rated card in Draft). As a result, I started valuing stuff higher that can nullify a fast start from the computer and put less emphasis on cards that win in the late game. ![]() The vast majority of times I lost it was because the computer had a very aggressive start and I didn't have an early play or got screwed or flooded. First of all, in general, the longer you stretch the game out, the more you can take advantage of the computers mistakes. Then through playing I had a number of different types of cards which went up or down in my estimation. What I did to start out in both Forge and Draft was to use a Tier List as a guide. ![]()
